WHAT IS THE UNITED NETWORK OF STUDENT LEADERS?
-A newly formed organization consisting of 2 student representatives from each of the 20 high schools* in ESO Network 6, who meet once a month at one of our high schools.
WHY DID WE START THIS?
· To address a need identified by the Coordinators’ of Student Activities and the Principals of our Network High Schools;
· To provide the students of ESO Network 6 with a voice in the organization, goals, structure, and work of our network;
· To provide a forum for student communication among themselves and with their schools’ administration and the adult leadership of our network;
· To develop inter-school activities, projects and resources;
· To develop leadership skills in our students and provide them with a more global forum to apply these skills;
· To assist students in the development of individual and collective perspectives within the context of their own educational experiences.

Thoughts, Ideas, Concerns
I hope everyone's wearing their new school shirts and that we were able to dispell some of the myths and legends and learn some new info about the high schools in our network.
Thanks to E.R. Murrow HS, Ms. Pinder and our student hosts for everything they did to make our meeting possible and for arranging for us to participate in the AIDS Quilt Project.
We need to figure out what would work best as far as the timing of our meetings.
Please post your thoughts.
It seemed that many of you would prefer to meet earlier in the day so that you could get back to school for your after-school activities. That would mean missing most of your classes. The other option is for you to adjust your schedules for the days we'll meet so you don't have to rush back.
If we want our group to work, we have to figure this out. It obviously doesn't work when people keep getting up to leave in the middle of the meeting.
We need to hear from you!!!!

UPCOMING MEETING
Our next meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 3rd at Edward R. Murrow High School at noon. All students and COSAs received an e-mail with the address and travel directions. We'll be doubling in size, since you all wanted 2 representatives from each school to be there. Make sure everyone brings a T-shirt with them. We'll be exchanging them, as we learn more about each of the schools in our network.
Bring ideas with you for a big activity that we can do with/for all the schools in our network in the spring. If you haven't RSVP'd to the meeting, e-mail Mrs. Siegel today!!!!
Don't forget to e-mail or bring a picture of yourself so we can put it on the website!!!
